How to Play Fraction Sweeper 🧩
Welcome to Fraction Sweeper! Your mission is to clear the board without clicking on any hidden traps. Use your math skills and logic to find all the safe squares!
🎮 The Controls
Use the Mode button at the bottom to switch between two actions:
👆 Reveal Mode: Click a square to uncover it. If it's safe, you'll get a math clue. If it's a trap, game over!
🚩 Flag Mode: If you are sure a square is a trap, switch to Flag Mode and click it to place a red flag. This protects you from accidentally clicking it later!
🧮 How to Read the Clues (The Math Part!)
When you click a safe square, it will reveal a fraction. This fraction tells you how many traps are hiding in the squares right next to it (including diagonals).
Here is how to decode the fraction:
The Bottom Number (Denominator): This is the total number of squares touching your tile.
Hint: A tile in the middle touches 8 squares. A tile on the flat edge touches 5. A tile in the corner touches only 3.
The Top Number (Numerator): This is the ratio of those touching squares that are traps.
Watch out for Reduced Fractions! Because you're a math whiz, the game will always give you the simplest form of the fraction.
Example: Let's say your tile is in the middle of the board (touching 8 squares) and there are 2 traps next to it.
The game won't say 2/8. It will reduce the fraction and say 1/4.
You have to ask yourself: "What is 1/4 of 8?" The answer is 2 traps!
💡 Stuck? Use the Helper!
If you are still learning your fractions, click the Helper: OFF button at the bottom to turn it ON. It will show you a tiny grey number next to the fraction so you know exactly how many traps are nearby.
Good luck, and happy sweeping!
